Jingle Bells, Party Time, Breathe!, Slow Cooking & Preparing to SHINE! in 2015.
It's a busy time for most folk (whether you're enjoying it or not) and with endless lists of things to do it can often feel like there's not really much time to think about using all those stress-busting tools that are so helpful at other times in the year - I'm thinking about EFT, NLP, listening to hypnotherapy and relaxation CDs etc. Although I have loads of CDs and relaxation tracks on my phone, at this time of year I just don't take the time to listen to them. The thing that helps me stay calm, relaxed and focused when all hell seems to be breaking out is just to remember to breathe... deeply! Three deep breaths always stop me from getting caught up in the stress happening around me. Those breaths clear my head, centre and anchor me to the present moment and help me feel much more relaxed and calm. Need a quick reminder on how to do it? Instructions in the photo :)
Another thing that tends to get neglected for me at this time of year is healthy eating. The cold, damp winter days and nights make me want to curl up and comfort eat - usually the unhealthy stuff! There are lots of fab healthy things you can eat too though, right? Hmmm... who wants salad at this time of year especially in Scotland and those things that we love at this time of year - casseroles, soups, potatoes, etc - can take an age to cook and who has time to do that these days? My cunning plan to eat healthily this winter is to use my slow cooker. My original slow cooker is just too big nowadays so I bought a smaller one for £22 and it's been awesome! There's nothing better than coming home to the smell of a healthy soup or casserole that's been bubbling away all day, is just perfectly cooked and ready to serve. Did you know that you can cook baked potatoes in the slow cooker too? That was a complete surprise to me - they were perfectly done too. My next slow cooker 'experiment' will be dessert - it would be silly of me not to give it a go. Christmas dinner might have an interesting twist in my house this year too.
Looking forward to 2015 and those new year resolutions. I have a fair number of plans and goals that I'd like to see come to fruition in 2015 and I'm already working with my coach and mentor (yes the life coach has a life coach!) to make sure I'm clear about those plans and taking consistent action towards achieving those goals. Watch this space - I might even tell you about some of them :)
As always, keep in touch and let me know how you're getting on - it's great to hear what's been happening with you. There are lots of other places you can connect with me - Facebook, Twitter, Linked In, Google+ - the links are at the top of the website page. Looking forward to seeing you there.
Wishing you a wonder-filled, fun-filled and love-filled Christmas and New Year.
See you in 2015.
